Our artisanal sourdough is made in the traditional slow-fermented process. We use a starter that we feed and cultivate made from a combination of brown rice flour and the Caputo GF flour. The dough is then made from our flour blend and cold ferments overnight before our loaves are shaped and baked.
Our loaves are 1.00kg prebake weight - they are big! We are making gluten free bread bigger!
For local pickup. customers have the choice of fresh or frozen. All domestic shipping will contain the frozen items.
To refresh the bread to "just baked" reheat at 325F for about 20-25 mins.
We typically will cut the loaf if half and keep half in the freezer and rebake half of it and then have a day or two of fresh bread before putting it in the fridge. It can keep in the fridge for about 2-3 weeks. If you're going to store it in the fridge for more than a few days, we recommend slicing it first. It will get hard in the fridge but will toast up back to soft!

The brioche-style dough used in the challah and burger buns now in a larger loaf for sandwiches - or perfect for a french toast. As with the burger buns, brushed with a vegan butter after baking for that buttery brioche flavor.

A delicious gluten free pizza dough that tastes like a “regular” pizza. Have a pizza making night but make it gluten free!
The dough comes in two variations: Yeasted and Sourdough
Sourdough: contains honey and is leavened using our sourdough starter and fermented
Yeasted: our yeasted pizza dough is vegan and is leavened with (Red Star brand) active dry yeast
The dough is 450g which makes either one large family size pizza or two smaller personal pizzas.
Bring the dough up to room temperature from refrigerated before stretching.

our company
At District Bread we create products that can be enjoyed both by those who need to avoid gluten and are so good that those who can eat gluten will enjoy as well. Our products are all made from fermented gluten free sourdough. In addition to being 100% gluten free, our core products are naturally dairy free and nut free - seasonal/holiday products may vary and will be labelled accordingly.
As part of the celiac community we created our gluten free sourdough out of necessity, there was nothing on the market that we could eat that reminded us of quality bread. We are excited to share our bread with others in the community and know you will enjoy it as much as we do.
